The Providence Youth Services YMCA Branch (PYS) is unlike any other branch of the YMCA of Greater Providence. PYS is not a facility branch, but a branch devoted to the children and families of Providence, Rhode Island. Everyone at PYS is committed to a community-based approach to delivering health and wellness opportunities, academic enrichment and achievement, and youth development skills. PYS offers carefully developed programs that serve each neighborhood uniquely by collaborating with schools, community partners, and local businesses to support bright futures for healthy, engaged families and connected communities.
PYS serves students in Out of School Time (OST) from 3 elementary schools throughout Providence. PYS also offers summer learning programs at our branch location on Peace Street for middle school students, as well as day camp for ages 5 years old to 9th grade at Camp Ok-Wa-Nessett. Along with our OST programs, our branch is also home to our community room, and space for our community partners to meet and contribute to the success and development of our neighborhood.

The YMCA will ask the RI Broadcasters Association to notify all radio and television stations of program cancellations. If the weather looks like we could close, please tune in for cancellation updates. We are unable to call each parent individually to remind them of closings. Parents are responsible for providing the school with an alternate transportation plan if the OST program is closed for any reason. Please see your site coordinator for any questions.
