At the Y, we believe all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. Our after school programs provide a fun, safe place for kids to learn, grow and thrive.
With a focus on safety, health, social growth and academic enrichment, Y After School Programs take place in a caring and encouraging environment at our YMCA branches and school-based locations across RI and South Eastern Mass. Licensed by the RI Department of Human Services, we offer extended hours as early as 7 am until school starts and after school until 6:00 pm. Programs and hours vary by location.

No one will be denied an opportunity to participate in YMCA activities due to an inability to pay the program or membership fee. Confidential income-based financial assistance is available.
The YMCA of Greater Providence utilizes PlayerSpace, a student management and communication platform that allows parents to complete required documents and waivers for their child through an online parent portal.

PROGRAMS
ACADEMIC SUPPORT
Y staff works closely with a child’s school to create the best academically-aligned program for the child. Activities may focus on improving reading levels, assisting with homework projects, and developing time management skills. Games and enrichment activities promote learning while having fun.
CREATIVE ARTS
Children explore and develop creativity and self- expression through drama, dance and mixed media art activities.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
The Out of School Time staff emphasizes the importance of a healthy spirit, mind, and body. Through the Y’s unique “Kids on the Move” program, the well-being of each student is woven into the daily curriculum. Children learn the benefits of good nutrition and healthy food choices while enjoying nourishing snacks. They also learn stress management techniques through engaging and fun activities and stay physically active.
