Lifeguard Retention $500 Award
To qualify for this award, lifeguards will need to have a hire date no later than June 30, 2022 and end the season on August 26, 2022 (no vacations/time away) as well as work a minimum of 15 hours weekly. Additionally, individuals who achieve lifeguard certification with the Greater Providence YMCA and begin employment as a lifeguard are also eligible for this bonus award

At the conclusion of the summer, if you both stay the entire season, you each receive $200. To qualify for this award, referrals will need to have a hire date no later than June 30, 2022 and work through the end of the season on August 26, 2022 (no vacations/time away).

If you are a student interested in learning more about your field of study through hands-on experience, the Y may have opportunities for you to learn while providing a valuable community service. Internship criteria is coordinated through your local college, university or service organization. If you are interested in exploring internship opportunities at the Y, please arrange to speak with the executive director of your local Y branch.
