WELCOME BACK TO YOUR HAPPY PLACE

The wait is over! We’re thrilled to announce that we will be reopening July 6. Detailed schedules will be shared soon. In the meantime, check out how we're ensuring the health and safety of all when you return.

YMCA Summer Camp
DAY CAMP

Healthy Living

The Newman YMCA offers many programs that help individuals improve their health and well-being. In addition to our state-of-the-art health and wellness center, we provide over 60 group exercise classes each week and personal trainers. The Y also helps to address the challenges of a variety of chronic diseases with programs such as LiveStrong at the YMCA (for cancer survivors) and the YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program.

Youth Development

The Y is focused on providing safe, enriching opportunities for children in our community. From licensed preschool childcare and before & after-school care to summer camp to instructional programs that focus on skill development, the Y is the place for your children. Additionally, the Y is also known for aquatic safety and providing excellent swim instruction.

Social Responsibility

The foundation of the YMCA is being a strong community partner, working with individuals, businesses and local authorities. The Newman YMCA works with organizations such as the Seekonk Police and Fire Departments, Seekonk School Department, Rehoboth School Department, East Providence School Department, local libraries, East Providence Rotary Club and many more.

Cancellations, Closing and Inclement Weather Policy

All classes and programs operate according to schedule. In case of inclement weather, please check the website or call the Branch for automated messaging. You can also download the “YMCA of Greater Providence” app for updates (available on iTunes and Google Play).

CHILDCARE UPDATE

As of June 1 child care facilities will be allowed to reopen in Rhode Island. We have made the decision to hold off on reopening our childcare programs until we feel confident in delivering programming in a manner that will keep our little ones and staff safe, as well as, provide the quality that you have come to expect form us. We are actively working on plans to restart youth programs that are in line with new state regulations and current guidance from the CDC. While we do not have a specific reopen date, we will continue to keep you informed.

Current enrolled families can select from the options below should you like to make a status change for your child.

Donate your credit to the Y. Our buildings may be closed, but our work continues to support our communities through this crisis. But we can't do it alone. Your donation will help us continue to support those who need it the most.

We will come out on the other side of this and the Y will be there to offer support to families during out-of-school times. Leave the credit on your account for use when we resume operations.

We understand that in times like these, every penny counts, so we can fully refund any fees pad for the week of March 16, 2020.

SUMMER CAMP UPDATE

Summer is finally here! We're just as eager to unplug and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Due to the popularity of our summer camps, registration is closed.

SAFETY IS #1. KEEPING OUR CAMPERS SAFE.

As the inventors of camp, we're known for our safe and nurturing environment. While much has changed, the one thing remains, is our commitment to provide a safe, reliable and enriching summer camp experience for all.

Here's how we're maintaining a healthy environment:

  • Campers will be assigned to stable groups of 15 or fewer including staff. This means your little ones will not change groups and will stay with the same group of children for the duration of their enrollment.
  •
  • Campers will need to bring their own lunch and snacks from home.
  • Campers will not be required to wear face coverings during the day, however, staff and any adult visitors will be required to do so.
  • Daily health screenings will be required for all campers and staff.
  • Regular hand washing and personal hygiene will be encouraged for all campers and Y counselors.

We are always grateful for the assistance and need people with a wide range of skills and interests to help us meet the needs of all we serve. Stop by your nearest branch and ask how you can join our team of volunteers.
