Virtual Classes
Beginner Basketball (ages 3-5)

Thursday, 2:00 - 2:45pm

$10 YMCA members, $15 non-members

A fun introduction to the sport of basketball! Players are introduced to the sport through drills, gym games and team play.

Nerf Dart Tag (ages 6-12)

Wednesday, 1:00-1:45pm

$10 YMCA members, $15 non-members

The classic game played in A 1-time clinic with obstacles and different objectives to give the game a new and interesting twist. Learn the skill required to shoot, hide and dodge in this fun game every child loves.

Youth Basketball Clinic (ages 9-12)

Thursday, 1:00-1:45pm

$10 YMCA members, $15 non-members

Take the next step in Basketball. Kids will learn how to work as a team as well as how to develop their ball-handling, shooting, and passing skills.

Archery (ages 9-12

Wednesday, 2:00 - 2:45AM

$10 YMCA members, $15 non-members

1-time clinic by a certified instructor will teach the fundamentals of archery. Safe and fun in a controlled setting. Participants will have the opportunity to hone their skills and progress through the different levels of archery.

Virtual Classes

We’re bringing the Y community together like never before. Whether you’re taking a class in our gym or from your living room – you can now workout anywhere, anytime with unlimited access to live classes or On Demand.

Rent Equipment

No equipment? No problem. Bring your favorite equipment from the Y into your home. Choose from a variety of exercise equipment like: barbells, hand weights, Silver Sneaker balls, chairs, steps, and more! Curbside pickup available.

Safety

Masks are required at all times when visiting and exercising at the Y. This includes sports, group exercise classes, and in all areas of the fitness center. Masks do not need to be worn while swimming but must remain on until the swimmer is in the pool.

We have taken the necessary steps to ensure your well-being. This means things will look and feel a little different when you come to the Y. Here’s a glimpse of what to expect:

SCHEDULE YOUR WORKOUT

Appointments are needed to visit the Y. Schedule your visit one week to 24 hours in advance at www.bookaspot.org.

ONLINE HEALTH SCREENING

Complete an online health assessment and a new membership agreement prior to your scheduled workout.

H2O & TOWEL:

As water fountains will be closed, kindly bring your own water bottle. Also, if needed, bring your own towel and mat.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING

Building capacity will be limited to 25% to support six to 14 feet of physical distance while exercising.

MASKS

Masks are required to and from the facility and in areas where six feet of physical distancing cannot be maintained. Masks are also required for group exercise classes.

CLEAN EQUIPMENT

Help support a healthy environment by cleaning your equipment before and after each use. Our Y team disinfects surfaces and exercise equipment in between sessions. And because we know that’s not enough, our professional cleaning crew disinfects nightly with state-of-the-art electrostatic sprayers.

WORKOUT ANYTIME, ANYWHERE

CHILDCARE UPDATE

Before and After School Care

Our Before and After School Program serves Seekonk, Rehoboth, and East Providence schools. Our curriculum focuses on STEM, (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), Arts & Humanities, and Health & Wellness. We operate out of the Newman YMCA. and in several offsite centers in East Providence.

Our Before and After School program provides:

Newman YMCA Kid’s World Preschool

Licensed through the MA Department of Early Education and Care, children have the opportunity to grow at their own pace while having fun, learning social skills and making friends. Challenging and stimulating learning opportunities with a focus on STEM, (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), Art, Literacy, Music and Creative Arts. The YMCA of Greater Providence is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (Tax ID: 05-0258878). All cash or in-kind donations made to the YMCA of Greater Providence are tax deductible. Additionally, many companies and organizations have Matching Gift programs – the company will match the employee’s donation to the employee’s charity of choice.

Financial assistance is made available to those who cannot afford the services the Y provides. As a charitable organization, our mission is to ensure that Y services are available and accessible to all, regardless of ability to pay.

Your first month’s membership dues will be pro-rated at the time that you join. Most members pay dues through a monthly bank draft/credit card that will be established at the time you join. You may also pay for your membership dues on a quarterly or annual basis.

If you are interested in joining the Y, you need to create an online account. A Y membership allows full use of our facilities and all the added benefits of a membership.

  • A Program Participant is an individual who enrolls only in a specific program or programs and pays a non-member fee, with no further facility or membership privileges.
  • Full-Service Member is an individual who pays a monthly fee for a specific membership type and has access to all seven full-service branches. As a full-service member you have access to:

  • Early registration for popular programs
  • Free group exercise including Les Mills ™ programming and yoga

If you are signing up for a membership, please read through the Frequently Asked Questions, then click the “Join Now” button and fill out the application.

New members have 30 days from the date of membership to decide if the Y is the place for them. If you are not completely satisfied, you will receive a full refund. To do so, you must complete the appropriate form available at the Welcome Center. For additional refund policies, please contact your nearest branch.
