$165,000 Raised, Countless
Lives Positively Touched
I'm thrilled to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of the supporters, sponsors, and community heroes who helped make our 2025 Y Heroes Celebration such a joyful and inspiring evening. Because of your generosity, we raised an incredible $165,000! These funds will go a long way toward keeping GPYMCA programs accessible to the children, families, and individuals who need them most.
One of the most immediate ways your support will make an impact is by helping families access summer camp. Every year, we hear from parents who want their children to experience the joy, growth, and connection that camp offers—but who can't afford the cost. Thanks to you, more kids will get to experience camp this summer without financial barriers standing in the way. And that opportunity couldn't come at a more important time.
Today's youth are navigating real mental health challenges. Something as simple as time outdoors—moving, breathing fresh air, unplugging from screens—has been shown to lower stress, ease anxiety and depression, and improve focus and mood. Programs like camp also help kids build confidence, practice social skills, and feel a deep sense of belonging and joy. These aren't just nice-to-haves—they're foundational to healthy development (American Camp Association, UC Davis Health, Kids Mental Health Foundation).
That's exactly what we aim to provide. Our day camps—located throughout the region in South Kingstown, Warwick, Seekonk, and Barrington—are designed with both convenience and community in mind. And for families looking for an immersive overnight experience, our beloved Camp Fuller in Wakefield, nestled on Point Judith Pond, offers children the chance to explore, grow, and thrive in nature's classroom.
Spots are filling quickly, and we'd love to welcome your family this summer. Whether your child is new to camp or returning for another year of adventure, we promise a season full of friendship, growth, and lifelong memories.
Register today and give your child the gift of a summer that matters.
