Now that school is back in session, many families are getting reacquainted with early alarms, packed lunches, and the daily dance of juggling work, homework, and everything in between. At the Greater Providence YMCA, we understand this time of year, and we're here to help you find your footing.
Whether you need a safe, enriching place for your child after school or a bit of time and space to focus on your own well-being, we're here for you. We're proud to offer Out-of-School Time care in 10 communities, and our Fall Family Membership promotion gives current members with children the chance to get even more from their Y experience. If you've been thinking about upgrading to a family membership, now's the perfect time to explore what that includes.
We've also been connecting face-to-face with members through our fall town halls. I've had the chance to meet with families at our Cranston, Kent County, and East Side/Mt. Hope branches, and these conversations are some of the most valuable time I spend as CEO. You've shared what's working, what could be better, and where your priorities lie—and we're listening. These insights help guide how we show up and serve.
I'm also excited to share that our new website is now live. It's easier to navigate, simpler to keep updated, and designed to help current and future members find what they need. In the coming weeks, we'll also roll out GroupEx Pro, a tool that will make it even easier to sign up for your favorite classes and stay engaged.
As your family settles into its fall rhythm, I hope you know we're right here with you. In the midst of the busy days and changing schedules, the Y remains a place where you and your family are supported, seen, and always welcome.

We kicked off the school year with celebration and community thanks to two major events at the Cranston and East Side/Mt. Hope YMCAs. Together with partners like Back to School Celebration of RI, LIUNA New England, and Providence College Basketball, we handed out hundreds of backpacks and reminded local families that the Y has their back—on and off the court.

This month, we've made key improvements to our branches. At the East Side/Mt. Hope Y, the aerobics studio got a full refresh, thanks to support from the City of Providence and Mayor Brett Smiley. And at the Kent County Y, volunteers from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of RI rolled up their sleeves to repaint our gym and wellness spaces as part of #BlueAcrossRI2025. Thank you to our partners for helping us build a better Y for everyone.

The Kent County YMCA Swim Team is gearing up for its annual Swim Challenge—an exciting lap-a-thon fundraiser that fuels our Annual Campaign. Proceeds help local kids and families access vital Y programs like camp, swim lessons, and after-school care.

During Welcoming Week, we were honored to host a naturalization ceremony where 24 of our neighbors officially became U.S. citizens. It was a moment of pride, joy, and community—reminding us that belonging at the Y is more than a feeling. It's a promise. We're grateful to have shared such a meaningful milestone with families, staff, and community leaders alike.
At the Greater Providence YMCA, fall means families finding their rhythm again. Kids are learning and playing, parents are recharging, and neighbors are building connections that last.
Your gift ensures every child, adult, and senior has a place to belong and grow, regardless of ability to pay.
