Important Information About Your October 1 Membership Draft

We are writing with important information about your October 1, 2026 membership draft. It will include your updated monthly membership rate and the $71 annual facility fee—a one-time charge assessed once each year.
We recognize that this will make your October payment higher than usual and want to explain what it includes.
New Monthly Membership Rates
This is our first general membership rate adjustment in more than three years. During that time, the costs of utilities, insurance, repairs, supplies and other essential services have continued to rise. Labor costs have also increased because of state minimum-wage requirements and the need to offer competitive wages that help us retain the employees who operate our facilities and serve our members. Facility usage across our association has grown by 10%, adding to the need for continued maintenance and reinvestment. The updated rates also bring our pricing more closely in line with comparable full-service YMCAs and fitness facilities in the region.

Annual Facility Fee Remains $71
The $71 facility fee is a one-time annual charge. It is not a monthly fee and will not be included in your remaining monthly drafts during the year. The amount remains unchanged from last year.
While monthly dues support ongoing operations, the annual facility fee supports upkeep and improvements across our locations. Combined with grants and donor support, it has helped fund recent improvements and upcoming work, including:
- Gymnasium renovations at Bayside and Kent County; lobby, parking lot and accessibility improvements at East Side; and pool deck improvements at Newman.
- Outdoor pool and archery improvements at Bayside; Champlin Lodge and GaGa pit improvements at Kent County; and new picnic tables at our campground sites.
- Exterior safety lighting at Mt. Hope Childcare, continued maintenance of HVAC and boiler systems, and planned infrastructure improvements at South County.
We are also using feedback from our recent strength-training equipment survey to help prioritize future equipment and facility investments.
What to Expect on October 1
Your October 1 draft will include your updated monthly rate plus the one-time annual facility fee of $71. Beginning in November, your regular draft will include only your monthly membership dues.
Depending on your financial institution, processing may take a few business days to appear on your account. Because of merchant coding used by some credit card companies, the facility fee may appear on your statement labeled as “childcare.” This is correct, and no action is required.

Combined with grants and donor support, the facility fee helps fund projects such as gymnasium and pool renovations, accessibility improvements, HVAC and boiler maintenance, safety lighting, painting, equipment improvements and other essential facility work.
The published rates apply to standard paying memberships. Insurance- and employer-sponsored memberships operate under separate agreements, and their terms may differ. Please contact your home branch if you are unsure how the change applies to you.
Confidential financial assistance is available. You may complete an application using one of the options below or contact your home branch for assistance.
Yes. Members who receive a 15% discount through a participating employer—such as Brown Health, Bristol County Savings Bank or another YMCA employer partner—will continue to receive the full discount. Beginning October 1, the 15% discount will be applied to the new standard monthly rate for your membership category. Your discounted monthly payment will change because the underlying rate is changing, but your 15% discount is not being reduced or removed.
