About Our Staff
The Camp Manitoo staff are mature, enthusiastic and diverse. Most are from our year-round child care programs and youth sports staff, as well as college students who are studying education, psychology, and social work. The staff are carefully selected for qualities such as leadership, personal values, and compassion. We make sure they are able to relate to and motivate young people. The staff is closely supervised by a leadership staff of dedicated YMCA professionals.
All camp staff are committed to providing children with an outstanding summer. They are passionate about making summer camp an exceptional experience for every camper.
Staff have to pass various background checks on a local and federal level as well as spend at least 20 hours going through trainings that consist but are not limited to: Child Abuse Prevention, behavior management, CPR/First Aide and Site/Program specific trainings. Our Camp and trainings have been approved by The American Camping Association our accrediting organization.
