The Greater Providence YMCA provides teens with personal, social and recreational programs in a safe and positive environment that teaches leadership and responsibility, and promotes individual self-esteem. Teens at the YMCA focus on educational achievement and gaining skills in an environment that emphasizes respect, responsibility, honesty and caring. Your teen will grow new friendships, build confidence and discover personal talents. The YMCA can help youth find positive opportunities in life that lead to happiness and success.

After-School Programs
Middle School Program
Grades 6-8
Our Middle School Program provides a safe and nurturing environment where children are encouraged to celebrate diversity, build relationships and have fun! The Middle School Program is intentionally designed with more structure for this specific age group and the program is based on the four values of the YMCA: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are spent at the West Bay Family YMCA; Tuesdays and Thursdays are at Davisville Middle School. Contact Heidi Morris for more information.

Swim Times
Check out our Pool and Jacuzzi schedule for open swim times set up specifically for Middle School kids and our X-Time program. Open to all YMCA of Greater Providence middle school kids and youth and teens in our Middle School After School Program and X-Time Program.

Fitness Program
Pre-Teen/Teen Fitness Program
Ages 11-15
This mandatory training program is designed for pre-teens and teens who would like to use the Nautilus and cardiovascular equipment in the Fitness Center. Participants will be taught step-by-step over three sessions how to safely use age-appropriate fitness equipment. For participants to graduate from this program, they must attend all three training sessions. In addition, they must pass a written and practical test demonstration an understanding of safe, respectful, and responsible exercise techniques and Fitness Center protocols. Sessions are ongoing by appointment. Sign up at the Welcome Center. Parent or guardian must be present during the first 10 minutes of the first appointment.

Sports and Fitness Training
Receive an afternoon of training with Anthony. Whether you are looking to prepare for a spring sport or just want to test your physical abilities, this is a class you will not want to miss! This certified YMCA trainer will supply you with fun sports and gems that you can do at home to further your strength and flexibility training.
