Facts and Figures

  • The West Bay Family YMCA serves more than 6,300 members, mostly in the North Kingstown, Exeter and East Greenwich communities.
  • The West Bay YMCA won the 2007 Raytheon Award for support of military families within our community.
  • Our 2006 annual Giving Tree provided gifts to more than 85 families at Christmastime who otherwise would not have been able to afford much.
  •  This year, more than 200 young dancers were involved in the Annual Dance Recital run by our Health and Wellness director, Tara Gast.
  • Each week, more than 115 children come in to the West Bay Family YMCA to take swim lessons that teach skills, self-esteem and personal safety that helps to prevent drownings and other aquatic-related deaths.
  • Our collaboration with the North Kingstown Parks and Recreation Department allows us to operate our ACA accredited Camp Wequai out of Wilson Park to serve children ages 5 to 13.
  • Camp Wequai is the new name of our newly redone camp program that serves children in grades 1-8.
  • The West Bay Family YMCA is one of the pioneering YMCA's that is participating in the Activate America collaborative.
