School Aged & Middle School
The Newman YMCA is dedicated to developing and maintaining quality child-care staff and operations. We currently operate a licensed school-age program at the Palmer River Elementary School in Rehoboth, Mass., at seven elementary school sites in East Providence, RI, and in three YMCA-based middle school programs for Edward R. Middle School in East Providence, RI, Beckwith Middle School in Rumford and Seekonk Middle School in Seekonk, Mass. Collectively, 225 school-age youth are in Newman YMCA care daily.
YMCA child-care is open to all families regardless of race, cultural heritage, national origin, religious or political beliefs, disability, income level, or lifestyle.
Our Summer Camp continues to be extremely popular and received the highest accreditation award (100%) from the American Camp Association

Activities at the YMCA may include using the fitness and aerobics room, "The Big Bounce," playing football, basketball and tennis. Quiet homework/study time, leadership games and activities and community service projects are also a part of our daily schedule.
Financial Assistance
In keeping with our policy of serving the whole community, the YMCA offers financial assistance to children and families in need through our Open Door Program. Financial assistance is provided through donations to the Y’s Strong Kids Campaign. All information is confidential.
