  • Preschool Gymnastics

     Ages 3-4
    This fun, structured gymnastics class includes creative movement and the development of gross-motor skills introduced in a creative, safe, and fun atmosphere. Child must already be 3 years old to register. Gymnastics parents are now encouraged to watch any and all classes.

  • Little Dragons

     Ages 3-4
    Children will learn basic karate techniques that teach responsibility, self-awareness and teamwork, as well as improving coordination and flexibility skills in a class designed to be educational and fun. Uniforms are not required, but available for purchase. Progression belts are additional as well. Please see instructor for pricing and ordering.

  • Preschool Tennis

     Ages 3-5
    Come learn tennis skills, or enhance ones you already know. Participants will play on our own Kent County YMCA courts. Come have fun and meet new people! Classes may be delayed due to weather.

  • Preschool Combination Dance

     Ages 3-6
    This is a fun, structured dance class. Dancers will learn the basics of Ballet, Tap, and Acro in a creative, safe environment. Dress for all preschool classes are black tap shoes, pink ballet shoes (black for boys), and appropriate dance attire. Classes are offered per session.   • Fall Soccer League

     Ages 3-6
    This 8-week season will consist of practice time for the first half, and games for the second portion of the scheduled time. Participants need to bring shin guards, cleats and a size 3 soccer ball

  • Dance Performance Company

    Mini Company Ages 4-7
    Kent County YMCA Dance Performance Company teaches dancers learn important lessons of dedications, loyalty and teamwork. Instructors focus on creativity, choreography and the YMCA core values. In addition to regular class times, dancers are required to attend rehearsals. Pre-Requisite: Must be registered for another dance class. 

  • Kindergymnastics

    Age 5
    This fun, structured gymnastics class builds upon the skills learned in preschool gymnastics and includes developmentally appropriate skills introduced on bars, beam, and floor in a creative, safe, and fun atmosphere.   • Fall Basketball Clinics

     Ages 5-15
    Get ready for the Youth Basketball League (YBL) season with this clinic. Players will be shown drills to enhance all parts of their game; shooting dribbling, passing and defense.
    Clinics will run from October 17-November 14, 2009
    The final day is the registration day for YBL!

  • YBL - Youth Basketball League

    Ages 5-15
    This league will consist of games each week as well as practice once a week for certain age groups. Participants must register by November 14th. Fee includes jersey. The season will run from mid November to mid February.

  • Youth Tennis

    Ages 6-12
    Come learn tennis skills, or enhance ones you already know. Participants will play on our own Kent County YMCA courts. Come have fun and meet new people! Weather permitting.

  • Cross Country Races

    Ages 6-18
    Athletes will have the option to run eith 1 or 2 miles. Races will begin at 6:20 p.m. Course orientation will be available at 6:00 p.m., all are welcome to join. There will be a registration table set up at the events for check-in.

  • Gymnastics - Level 1

    Ages 6 & Up
    The first developmental level of YMCA’s Progressive Gymnastics Program. This class is for the first time student, and for those who have been away from the sport for a while. Students must be at least 6 years old to register. Students will advance per the discretion of the instructor based on skill requirement report cards given out at the end of each session. Gymnastics parents are now encouraged to watch any and all classes. Main Gymnasium

  • Gymnastics - Level 2

     Ages 7 & Up
    This is the second developmental level in the YMCA Progressive Gymnastics program. Children will build on elements learned in the Level 1 class. Pre-requisite: Students must have taken our Level 1 class for a minimum of one session or per instructors discretion. Gymnastics parents are now encouraged to watch any and all classes.

  • Gymnastics - Level 3

    Ages 7 & Up
    This is the third developmental level in the YMCA Progressive Gymnastics Program. Children will build upon elements from both Level 1 and Level 2, while working to increase strength and flexibility to prepare for more advance skills. Gymnastics parents are now encouraged to watch any and all classes.  Pre-requisite: Per instructors discretion.

  • Youth Combination Dance

    Ages 7-12
    This class is for dancers of all abilities. This is a fun, structured class learning ballet, tap, jazz and acro in a safe environment. Dress code is tan jazz shoes, black tap shoes and pink ballet
    shoes for girls and black ballet shoes for boys.

  • Flag Football

     Ages 7-12
    Teams will be formed each week based on attendance and games will be played. Some of the basics of the game will be covered including route running coverage. This is designed as a fun activity for players of all levels.

  • Youth Martial Arts

     Ages 7-12
    Children will learn basic karate techniques that teach responsibility, self-awareness and teamwork, as well as improving coordination and flexibility skills in a class designed to be educational and fun.   • Dance Performance Company

    Junior Company Ages 8-12

  • Skate Board Clinics

    Ages 8 & Up
    Bring your skateboard, helmet, and
    pads and get ready to skate like the pros! This clinic provides safety and skateboarding instruction for various levels of ability based on participant needs.  Safety is of the utmost importance, participants MUST have own safety equipment to include helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards.

  • Mountain Biking

    Ages 8 & Up
    Bring your mountain bike and come explore the 117 acres of the Kent County YMCA. Shin, knee, elbow and teeth protection suggested. Great family activity.

  • Travel Basketball Tryouts

    Ages 10-12
    The Kent County YMCA is excited to announce the formation of this competitive travel basketball team. This team will compete against other Y’s and recreational teams in the Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts area. Tryouts will be held on Saturday, December 5th at 4:00 p.m.

    Member $200                Program Participant $250
    This fee will be expected for each player that makes the team. This will cover shirts, shorts and all tournament fees.

  • Teen Combination Dance

     Ages 13-18
    This class is for the new or experienced. This is a fun, structured class learning ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical in a safe environment. Dress code is tan jazz shoes, black tap shoes and pink ballet slippers.

  • Adult Martial Arts

    Ages 18 & Up
    Adults will learn basic karate techniques that teach self defense, self-awareness and teamwork as well as improving coordination, flexibility skills and overall physical fitness in a class designed to be educational and fun. Uniforms are not required, but available for purchase. Progression belts are additional as well. Please see instructor for pricing and ordering.

  • Adult Tennis Lessons

    Ages 18 & Up
    Come learn tennis skills, or enhance ones you already know. Participants will play on our own Kent County YMCA courts. Come have fun and meet new people!

  • Private Tennis Lessons

    Ages 16 & Up

  • Men’s 5-on-5 Basketball

    Ages 18 & Up
    Season: September 13 - November 22, 2009

  • Men’s 4-on-4 Over 40 League

    Season: October 23 - January 29, 2009(This includes playoffs)
    This is a 4-on-4 league and teams will play cross court instead of full court. Game will be scored and officiated. Games will take place Friday nights between 7-9 p.m. Teams will be picked by designated captains.
