  • Fit for Life

    A low- to moderate-intensity exercise class designed for seniors. Each class is designed to improve strength and flexibility, using a wide variety of exercises.

  • Senior Strength Training

    Specially designed fitness program for Active Older Adults. Components of the program include use of cardiovascular equipment, strength training, equipment and free weights. This program will help increase muscle strength, bone density and flexibility.

  • Arthritis Foundation Land Exercise Program

    People with Arthritis Can Exercise. This program was developed by the Arthritis Foundation and designed to help those with arthritis to increase joint flexibility, range of motion and muscle strength. Located in a handicapped accessible room.

  • Arthritis Foundation Water Exercise Program (AFYAP)

    This exercise program was designed in collaboration with the Arthritis Foundation especially for people with arthritis. A variety of exercises are used to improve range of motion, develop muscle strength and flexibility. For non-swimmers as well as swimmers.

  • Tai Chi for Arthritis

    The Arthritis Foundation Tai Chi program is a time-honored, slow-moving, gentle, exercise program. Improves balance, flexibility, and coordination.


  • Cardiac Fitness

    Tailored to meet the needs of people with heart disease who have already participated in a medically supervised program. Components of the program include individualized instruction using cardiovascular equipment, weight-training equipment and stretching exercise. Includes blood pressure and heart-rate monitoring.


  • SilverSneakers® 

    MUSCULAR STRENGTH & RANGE OF MOVEMENT
    Have fun with fitness and meet new friends as you move to the music. This class combines exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and improve daily living skills. 
  • Yoga

    Yoga classes are designed to reduce stress, improve circulation, balance, coordination and flexibility. Enhance mental focus and clarity.
  • Chair Yoga

    This class involves carefully crafted postures and movements that are not only safe but also beneficial for a senior population. The instructor has had special training in working with persons with osteoporosis, arthritis, high blood pressure and other physical challenges. Postures are adapted to suit individual needs and circumstances. Special attention is paid to the joints of the body in order to gain strength and flexibility.
  • Y's Way to Fitness 

    Join this lively group for a 10-minute warm-up followed by 30 minutes of walking or running on the bike path and 15 minutes of floor exercise. If you like to exercise outdoors this is for you.
  • Zumba Gold

    Love that Latin craze? Have you become a fan of one of the hottest new exercise trends that has migrated from down south to the Bayside Family YMCA? Zumba Gold is a new Latin-dance inspired exercise craze; it is spicy, upbeat, salsa, merengue, belly dancing, conga lines and other tropical tempos blended to create a dance fitness program. If the Zumba Gold fever has not struck you yet now is the time to Zumba your way into health and fitness. Zumba Gold is suitable for those seeking a beginner level class or needing to rely on a chair for support. The pace is slower than the traditional Zumba class and can be enjoyed by those with twinges in the hinges.
