Middle School

For those who are too old for child care, but don’t want to be “latchkey” kids and come home to an empty house, the YMCA offers the perfect solution for “tweens”.

Boys and girls in Grades 6, 7 and 8 enjoy the YMCA Middle School Care program, with activities geared toward their age group to keep them focused on healthy activities and academic success.

Our staff encourages middle-school students in Y’s care to help staff design their site’s after-school curriculum to include activities in:

  • Arts & Humanities
  • Sports & Recreation
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Homework Assistance                                 
  • Community Service
  • Literacy
  • Science & Technology
  • Healthy Nutrition


Those who participate in the Y’s Middle School Care programs enjoy being involved in activities that are fun and popular among their peers. Parents enjoy knowing that their children are being cared for in a positive, healthy environment.
