East Side YMCA Team Swims for Save the Bay
Have you noticed how busy the pool has been lately? Well East Side/Mt. Hope YMCA swimmers were training for the Save the Bay swim on Saturday, July 17, from Newport to Jamestown. Eight Y members joined together and raised (so far) over $4700. Our thanks to Jana Hesser for making the team connections! The swimmers are: Randi Belhumeur, Frank Mauran, Sebastien Sonnenberg, Mark Rafferty, Thom Chahir, Todd Yonkman, Charlotte Handy and Jana Hesser.
If you peruse the names on the Save the Bay website, you will find many YMCA members including those on our team! Congrats to all who swam for such a worthy cause.
NEWEST FITNESS EQUIPMENT!
See Photos in our Gallery.
It's easy to use, so whatever your fitness level this equipment will help you achieve your fitness goals! With this new equipment, you will be able to charge your iPOD and navigate your play list on the interactive screens. You will also be able to work with a virtual trainer to create personalized workouts and track and store the results on a USB stick. Many of the machines will have optional TV screens with expanded cable so you can watch your favorite show or catch up on current events - even watch the baseball game - while getting your workout in!!!
Note: TVs will be optional and will require headphones for use.
We highly reccommend signing up for a one on one training with one of our staff or trained volunteers to learn how to maximize your time and get the best results utilizing all the "bells and whistles" the equipment offers. To sign up for a training, contact Christy Clausen or speak with one of our staff.
