The South County YMCA offers a wide range of programs and activities for the entire family - everything from Aquatics to Zumba. Work with a nationally certified personal trainer to develop an exercise program that focuses on your individual health concerns and unique fitness goals. In addition to strengthening and conditioning, we offer personal training in yoga, Pilates, water exercise, and more. We will customize your program to suit your needs. Trainers are available to work with you one-on-one, with a buddy, or in a small group setting. You can also choose from one-hour sessions or our 30-minute quick train option. WE'RE RAISING THE BAR ON FITNESS
BODYPUMP™ by Les Mills is for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. It will burn up to 590 calories. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.
LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA
Cancer is a life-changing disease that takes a tremendous physical and emotional toll on those affected. The Y and the LIVESTRONG Foundation have joined together to create LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a research-based physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors reclaim their total health. Participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength; increasing flexibility and endurance; and improving confidence and self-esteem. By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is helping people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind and body. Daytime and evening classes are available. - KIDS CARE: The South County YMCA is happy to provide this free service to members requiring child care services, Kids Care, while participating in activities in and around the facility. This program is for parents with children as young as 6 weeks may use Kids Care.
- PrimeTIME: And for older kids, check out PrimeTIME! PrimeTIME is a FREE program for children age 7-11 who like to have fun while parents work out. It includes teamwork and sports such as soccer, kickball, basketball and volleyball; age-appropriate fitness such as LesMills Born to Move; and age-appropriate activities such as arts & crafts, board games, cards, beads, and word search. Hours: Monday-Thursday 4pm - 6:30pm.
- Kids Gym: Kids Gym is for potty trained children from ages 3 - 10 years. Children have an opportunity to play on soft gym equipment, participate in organized games/activities, and bounce in our bounce house on selected mornings and evenings. Contact the Welcome Center for more details.
- Kids Night Out: Kids (ages 4-11 years) will enjoy dinner and a movie for children at the Y! Please feel free to pack PJs, pillows, blankets. Space is limited so please call the Welcome Center at 401-783-3900 to reserve at least 24 hours in advance. Kids Night Out is from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and is $20.00 for the first member child, and $15 for each additional member child. Non-member children are $30.00 for the first, and $20 for each additional non-member child.
