Cranston YMCA Camp Massasoit

Important Things to Know Before Camp Begins

WHAT TO WEAR:

Summer camp is all about a safe, outdoor adventure! Campers should wear clothing appropriate for outdoor activities. This includes shoes with a closed toe - no flip flops please! Campers should wear or pack shorts and a t-shirt, along with a light jacket or sweatshirt for chilly days. On rainy days, please send a hat and raincoat - no umbrellas please, as we will still be moving from place to place outside.

WHAT TO BRING:

Every day campers should have a bathing suit and towel for swim time. We recommend sending your child to camp with their swim suit on under their clothes. This helps expedite the changing process and ensures maximum swim time for each group. We provide lunch and an afternoon snack each day (see lunch menus below), but campers should pack a water bottle to keep hydrated throughout the day. Campers can also bring additional snacks, as long as they are nut-free.

Please remember to apply sunscreen and bug spray to your camper before camp each day! We will monitor the reapplication process after lunch.

CAMP HOURS:

The camp program day runs from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday-Friday. Before camp care is available from 6:30 - 8:30 am for an additional fee. After camp care is provided from 4:30 - 6:00 pm at no additional charge. Campers taking the bus from the Pastore Center to Camp Massasoit MUST be signed in by 8:15 am.
